Tour of the
exhibition - New Vision: New Colours
The exhibition features artworks selected from the
collection of the Museum in addition to recent works by Hong Kong artists.
In these creations the artists express their concern for the environment of
Hong Kong and wishes for the future in new multicoloured visions of our
world.
To coincide with the Shanghai World Expo 2010, the Hong
Kong Museum of Art will organize two art exhibitions in Shanghai, featuring
ink art and interdisciplinary art by Hong Kong artists. The exhibition in
Hong Kong is to be a prologue of the shows in Shanghai. Through this
combined initiative Hong Kong will present to the world the traditions of
Chinese humanitarianism and its recent development.

The tour of
2009 Hong Kong & Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\ Architecture
The Friends of the Hong Kong Museum of Art are pleased
to announce a special tour for members to the 2009 Hong Kong & Shenzhen
Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture. It is a cooperative cultural event
that is shared by the two cities under a Two Cities, One Biennale approach.
Completely non-profit and funded by the Home Affairs Bureau, HKSAR
Government, the Hong Kong portion of the Bi-City Biennale is aimed at
promoting education and public discussion around architecture, urbanism,
design and culture in a dynamic exhibition that is free and open to the
public. It encourages the active participation of local Hong Kong citizens.
CITY MOBILIZATION: BYOB invited citizens to bring their OWN exhibits, to engage
and help them join hands to make this Biennale successful. This is an
opportunity for members to see what that free participation process has
produced.
The Biennale is an important cultural event to take
place on the site of the future West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD). It
is intended as an open platform composed with innovative works and
thought-provoking installations and experiments by local and international
creative talents.
Participating architects/artists including Marisa Yiu,
Eric Schuldenfrei, Kacey Wong, Humphrey Wong , William Lim will join with
the curators Marisa Yiu and Eric Schuldenfrei to guide us through the
exhibition and provide insight into the ideas on exhibit.
This is the closing day for the
exhibition and therefore your last chance to see it. On that day, most of
the artists/architects will be there and there will be morning and
afternoon workshop. You are welcomed by the organizers to take part freely.
