The Friends sponsor a Summer Art Cadets programme for children from underprivileged backgrounds.

“Summer Art Cadets 2016 – Fun with Paper”

Paper, a material seemingly light and insignificant, too easily found and scrapped. It is yet the substance that help carry the history, knowledge and civilization of mankind across time and space. It’s also an universal material open up for artists to draw, write and mould, to transform simple ideas to stunning masterpiece — calligraphy, painting, printmaking, paper mâché. These are brought to life because of pulp – a great gift granted by our nature.

Through a series of activities and botanic garden visit, participants will be connected to the world.

In 2010, the Friends launched The Sound of Art— a successful music series at the Hong Kong Museum of Art.Held on the first Sunday of every month in the Museum foyer, the concert series features local musicians performing classical works by Chinese and Western composers.
